Matilda The Musical is the multi-award winning musical from the Royal Shakespeare Company, inspired by the beloved book by the incomparable Roald Dahl. With book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda The Musical is the story of an extraordinary little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. Winner of over 100 international awards, including 24 for Best Musical, Matilda has been delighting audiences in London’s West End for over a decade.

Our Unwrapped demonstrations offer a peek into the rehearsal room, with the Assistant Director and members of the cast, often our understudies, looking at one or two particular moments from the play. They give an insight into how a scene is taken off the page and onto the stage, with the actors and Assistant Director showing the type of exercises and discussion that took place during rehearsals.

Guided tours will run daily and every 60 minute tour will include an element of the building that is not otherwise accessible to the public. Where possible, our guided tours will for the first time include access to our newly developed Costume Workshop.*
Tickets cost £13.50. Up to 4 children go half price with every full price paying adult.
For Group bookings, please contact the Box Office on 01789 331111 (Monday - Friday, midday - 6pm excluding bank holidays)
*We will make every effort to include access to the auditorium or costume workshop areas as part of the tour, however please note that as a working theatre company routes may change due to other activity taking place and so this cannot always be guaranteed.
