Vestal, NY -- The UMBC Baseball team rallied from an early four run deficit to tie the game at 10 in the seventh, but No.1 seed Bryant used a five-run eighth inning to pull away and win, 15-10, in the America East Championship game on Saturday afternoon.

The Retrievers would have had to have won twice to win the championship.

All-Championship team members Anthony Swenda, Justin Taylor and Danny Wyatt all drove in at least one run, Wyatt added a solo homer and Matt Ryan and Luke Trythall each hit a two run homer of their own.

Wyatt batted .411 with 3 home runs and 12 RBI in the four game tournament, as he and Taylor both had three hits and scored a pair of runs. Taylor batted .388 with six runs scored and four RBI and Swendabatted .353 with a homer and eight RBI.

Nico Ong and Matthew Best also each had a hit with Best scoring a pair of runs.

Dawson Baracani drove in the other run for the Retrievers who concludethe season with a 27-25 record, finishing with back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2015-16 and only the third time overall in the last 25 years.
